Meet the founder, Ahlam Issa!

Ahlam Issa, M.A. CCC-SLP, is the owner and founder of Issa Speech Therapy. She has dedicated her career to helping children and adults of all ages find joy in expressing themselves and connecting with others. Ahlam Issa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as a leading speech-language pathologist. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Communicative Disorders from Eastern Michigan University, and her passion for empowering individuals through effective communication has been the driving force behind her remarkable journey.

With over six years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, Ahlam Issa has established herself as a trusted professional in the field. Her dedication and commitment to her client's success have earned her a reputation for providing exceptional care and transformative results.

Ahlam Issa's expertise extends beyond the walls of her clinic. She is an ASHA Certified Speech Language Pathologist, allowing her to offer her services in schools, in person, and via teletherapy to toddlers, school-aged children, and adults throughout Michigan. By employing diverse and innovative techniques, she tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual she works with.

With six years of dedicated experience working with pediatric populations, Sasha brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children.     Erica Porter M.A. CCC-SLP

    Erica Porter is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. She has a passion for making a difference and brings a unique blend of education and experience to working with young children. She is committed to fostering an inclusive and safe environment for all children. Outside of speech therapy, she enjoys traveling to new and different environments and embracing the culture. She is excited to begin working with clients here at Issa Speech Therapy.

  • Olivia Ordonez

    Olivia Ordonez CCC-SLP

    Olivia Ordonez graduated from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) in 2017 with her Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She is passionate with helping children to develop skills to foster communication with their peers. Olivia has worked in schools, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and private practice. She is getting married in January 2024! She also has a Goldendoodle and four chickens!

  • Reem Dari

    Reem Dari Administrative Assistant

    Reem Dari is currently in her second year at Eastern Michigan University. She is thrilled to be able to start het new role as an administrative assistant with Issa Speech Therapy. Her passion for working with children and speech pathologists has fueled her excitement for this opportunity. As she navigates through her academic journey, she look ms forward to one day contributing to the field of speech pathology. On a personal note, one important thing about her is that she really enjoys going on runs every morning when she is able to!

  • Occupational Therapy

    Madeline Petitpas OTRL

    Madeline Petitpas is extremely excited to join the team at Issa! She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitative Sciences as well as her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from Saginaw Valley State University in 2019. Since starting her career, she has worked in outpatient pediatrics and the school system. She has helped clients develop sensory integration and regulation abilities, fine and gross motor skills, visual motor and perception skills, activities of daily living, feeding skills, emotional regulation, and social participation skills. Also, she has completed further professional training in the areas of sensory processing interventions, the Get Permission Approach for Anxious Eaters, Animal Assisted Therapy, and more! She believes in creating a safe and accepting space for all in which the child's perspective is heard and celebrated every day. In her free time, she enjoys dog training, reading, and trying new coffee shops and restaurants!
